Hello Everyone:

A number of skaters have either contacted the club or have expressed their interest regarding skating Synchro at Thebarton IceArenA.

We are now able to let everyone know that we are hoping to start putting together teams for Silver Blades Figure Skating Club.

The short term goal for the teams is the opportunity to perform in the following two events:

    1. Panda Challenge -    Date: November 9th & 10th at Thebarton (details on the club website www.silverblades.org.au)
    2. End of year Ice show - Date: December 14th & 15th at Thebarton (more details in the near future, as currently in planning stage).

If you are interested in being part of a team experience and possibly participating in the above events, please send a reply to info@silverblades.org.au by August 15th. 

We will be having a get together on:

Date:      Saturday August 17th
Time:     9:30am - 10:00am
Venue:   Thebarton IceArenA.
Activity:  Off-ice meeting.

We  have expressed our interest to skate school and Deb Barrett, Skate School Supervisor, has offered a 4-week block for a synchro class Saturday 9:30-10:00 a.m. (dates 24th, 31st, August, 7th & 21st Sept.).  Robi Chalmers will be taking that class.

We will be learning synchro skills in the group class according to the Aussie Skate Synchro curriculum.  
Enrollment for the Saturday Synchro Class is through the Thebarton Ice ArenA Skate School by the 17th August to ensure the class has enough skaters enrolled to hold the class.  

The cost for the 4 weeks synchro classes $110, it also includes 4 weeks stroking and 4 practice sessions.

Date:      24th, 31st Aug, 7th & 21st Sept.
Time:     9:30 - 10:00 a.m. -- Synchro
              10:00 - 10:30 a.m. -- Stroking
Coach:   Robi Chalmers
Cost:     $110
Includes: 4 practice sessions on any day that a skate practice time session is offered (check the rink web site).
 
Please note: If you are currently enrolled in a skate school class you will receive 50% discount on this class (extra practice sessions are excluded).  

We will be able to update you with more details regarding the Silver Blades Synchro teams, the coach, the funding and the opportunity to perform etc...

If you would like to have a skate that Saturday morning (Sat 17 August),
there is a practice session from 8:00am - 9:30am. You can pay the rink as you come in for that session.

It would also be helpful if you can get back to us, and let us know if you are interested but unable to attend the meeting.
